about me
Elizabeth
Hi, I'm
I’m a BACP-registered counsellor based in Reading and Henley-on-Thames. I offer compassionate, integrative, trauma-informed therapy that supports my clients to make lasting meaningful change.

I’ve long been drawn to the importance of emotional health and wellbeing. My own history of trauma and the pressures of a former professional career give me deep insight into the challenges people face and the emotional toll they can take. Experiencing the transformative power of therapy ultimately led me to my role as a counsellor.

Knowing how life-changing therapy and access to mental health support can be, I volunteer as a Samaritan and with a community counselling service alongside my private practice. I hope this helps ensure that those who mightn't otherwise access support have somewhere to turn, and I believe these roles also give me a broader understanding of life’s challenges.
I draw on my personal history, professional background, volunteering experience, and training to deepen my empathy and enrich the therapy I offer to my clients.

If you'd like to get to know me a little better, or see whether I can support you in exploring your story, I'd be pleased to hear from you.

my training
I trained at the highly regarded Metanoia Institute in London.
My core training encompassed three complementary approaches:
Person-Centred Therapy – a relational, non-directive approach that values autonomy, trust, and emotional awareness.

Gestalt Therapy – a holistic present-focused method that deepens insight into thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.

Transactional Analysis – a practical framework for understanding how we relate to ourselves and others, helping to develop more fulfilling connections.
Together, these form the foundation of my integrative style — allowing me to tailor counselling to each client’s unique story and needs, while also drawing on trauma-informed therapy.
I continue to engage in professional development to ensure my work remains ethical, reflective, and effective.
